Christian Garrick, simply the world’s finest jazz violinist, as at home in a South Bank recital hall performing with great friend Nigel Kennedy, or in a studio recording the soundtrack to a Bond film, or performing with Wynton Marsalis, or Dolly Parton, or a downtown jazz club. He is much feted, much recorded, much in demand. His versatility is legendary, he plays all the jazz violin styles from Stuff Smith via Stephane Grappelli to Jean Luc Ponty and convinces in all of them before adding in elements of rock, folk and classical for good measure.

David Gordon is a regular member of Christian’s quartet, a jazz vampire by night and a leading classical harpsichordist by day. Christian and David met in London in 1996. Since then they have worked and recorded together in the Christian Garrick Quartet (four albums), with Sir John Dankworth, the Anglo-Finnish group Tango Alakulo and with Butterfly’s Wing featuring vocalist Jacqui Dankworth.

Their performances highlight the quick-fire energy and the telepathic connection between these two long-term friends and colleagues.

“…brilliant – musical intelligence, humour, sharpness, swing, superb improvisational skills – they have it all.” – The Guardian
